Search engines are more likely to give your website a good rating if you are popular amongst users because of the user-friendliness and the ability of your site to create user engagement by giving them relevant and beneficial content and making it easy to understand. If you want to get good rankings on Google, you must make sure that Googlebot can correctly index your web pages. If web crawlers can easily crawl your web pages, you will get better results. If you establish that even the ranking of the competitors is also fluctuating, it means that the cause of the issue is SERP. How recently your webpage was published is also a ranking signal – but different types of searches have different freshness needs, such as searches for recent events, hot topics, and regularly recurring events.2

Make sure your content is highly readable and can answer those longer tail queries

Keep the structure, navigation and URL structure of your site simple enough for search engines to follow. Remember that search engines cannot parse your navigation if it's using flash or javascript. If you want people to hang around your site, or make the purchases, your site should load in lightning speed, otherwise the users will not even give a second thought in jumping on to your competitor’s website. But the blogging holy grail is just this: A quality blog improves your Google ranking, which will draw leads to your website and encourage them to make purchases. The structure of your URLs can also help search engines to better understand your website content. If you can alter the URL so that, for example, it includes the name of your website, you should make use of this.

Build local relationships with businesses

For me internal linking is one of the most undervalued aspects of SEO, with many sites having inefficient menus and/or poor site structures. Relevance is the key issue when choosing the right keywords. Keep in mind that the more specific and niche the keywords, the better. Is your product / service trending and generate searches in the new market(s) you want to go to? Do a keyword research around the main terms for your business in the local language using Google Keyword Planner and analyse the main ones in Google trends. Technical SEO lays a solid foundation that gives your content the best chance to rank for relevant keywords and phrases.

Carrying out competitor research is crucial to any SEO campaign

Showing up on search engines is one of the most critical ways to increase website traffic and expose your content, product or service to people who might be interested in what you have to offer. This means that you'll want to practice a little SEO (search engine optimization). One part of SEO many have heard of is keyword research. After all, every time we use a search engine, we’re using a keyword (the name is a misnomer, most keywords have more than one word in them!) Try to ensure the key phrase is an exact match to what the searcher will type into a search engine. Natural language in search is becoming more prevalent, especially with the rise in voice search and Google’s understanding of natural language queries. According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "If you haven’t already I highly recommend you sign up for both Google Analytics and Google Webmaster tools. Both of them are free, and provide a wealth of information about your website, who visits it and what keywords they are using which really helps when planning/assessing your SEO campaign."

Metrics aren't important (and they can be harmful)

Social networks are an important source of traffic. Good content significantly raises the probability of the posts being frequently shared organically on social networks which helps you expand your reach. At the same time, you can also generate additional traffic through social channels. Social interactions are also registered by Google and can help the search engine review the relevance and quality of your content. There’s no denying that a website’s popularity correlates with how high it ranks in search engine results, and in a way, backlinks are like popularity votes. The more links you have leading to your website from outside websites, the more traction you’ll gain from search engines. ou can find out the same by tracking the keywords that users are typing in the search bar on your website. You can get a nice long list of keywords from there. Find out the information your users are searching for. Do you provide that information on your website? Is your website giving the users all that they are looking for? Ask yourself these questions. Google will show less information in the search results on mobile than on a desktop. Your meta descriptions and your titles will be truncated if you made them too long. Thinks about that when you optimize your posts and pages.
