Quality always beats quantity. Better have 1 trusted website referring to you, than 10 spammy ones. As these could harm your site or even lead to Google penalizing you. We all know that when it comes to link building, we aim for the authority links in the first place. But they’re also the hardest to land. Having a strong SEO campaign on your website is fundamental in making your business a success online. Despite this, many businesses are struggling to create SEO friendly websites. There are many sites out there which promise you quick ways to get to the top of Google. Many of them are exploiting current loopholes in Google’s algorithm. Yes they may get you to the top of Google for now, but once Google spots those loopholes they will close them, and often punish the sites who took advantage. So you could soon find yourself plummeting back down again.

Do you have lots of External Media

Long form content is an inbound marketing tool that has recently grown in popularity amongst marketing professionals. These pieces of content go against the trend toward smaller and more easily digestible pieces of content. High-quality content on and off your website and using strategic link-building tactics (internal links and backlinks) is a critical component to achieving relevancy. This strategy protects the website’s viability against the frequent changes in Google’s rules and priorities. How relevant is your product page or category page to the search term? This is a huge ranking factor that’s often neglected. Stick to keywords that your products would genuinely satisfy. You’re not foolin’ Google. Starting with SEO, what you want to achieve is a headline that will rank well and earn a high click-through rate. The overwhelming aim here is for a searcher to click on your article over others and you do not want your respondents to click the back button because the content doesn’t fit their needs.

How to Protect Your Content

Search engines scan captions and metadata separately, so remember to think about how you have tagged and named your original media files too. Your online competitors may not be who you think! By taking a broad look at your sector from an online perspective will help uncover potential opportunities that you are missing out on. Millions of businesses and individuals are competing for visibility in search engines, and many of them are writing what is, subjectively, “good” content. But what makes that content “good”? Keep in mind that you don’t need to think of Google as your audience. You write for your visitors and not for Google.

The next step is often forgotten

Outbound, or external, links are links pointing outwards from your site to another website. They pass along some of your own site’s ranking power. Launching a new website without putting 301 redirects in place is literally committing SEO suicide. Not only will you lose all of your past SEO history, your rankings (and traffic!) will plummet. Always, ALWAYS 301 redirect your old site pages to your new ones to let Google know where your new content can be found. Always ensure that your keyword or phrase appears in the first 100 words of your page, if not the first sentence. This is more important than keyword frequency. Gaz Hall, an SEO Expert from the UK, said: "A smart keyword strategy tackles only enough keywords to be supported with a robust, multifaceted on-site and off-site campaign. Trying to be jack of all keyword phrases will make you master of none."

Search for your niche keywords on Yahoo

As it may seem obvious by now, there is more to writing SEO-friendly content than ensuring you get a healthy ratio of keywords in. Develop a disavow report of unwanted links and forward it to the Google Disavow tool. The purpose of this tool is to enable publishers to ask Google to avoid taking certain low-quality links into account (link is external) when assessing your site. Ever wonder how to pick the perfect keyword topic for your blog or website, or find one that will have the most value? Most SEO strategists and content creators focus on, at best, two of the eight dimensions they should analyze when creating a keyword strategy for a website. Much like other SEO strategies, keyword research has evolved to a level that goes well beyond “how many people are searching for a topic.” It now includes many more variables that help define how much value a topic will bring to a website. You want your business to show up on Google when people search for something, but what? The first step to SEO success is to decide which search terms (keywords) are the best fit for what you do and if anybody out there is using them now. The goal of SEO is not just getting visitors to your site, but getting the right type of visitors to your site.
